The Peterborough Half Marathon that wasn’t

The Peterborough Half Marathon that wasn’t

29 of us were patiently waiting (and getting wet for the second year running) in our start pens after an entire summer of training.  However, due to a suspicious incident out on the course (which turned out to be a false alarm), the event was unavoidably cancelled.

For those who were up at the EA awards night the night before, this wasn’t entirely bad news. However, especially for those who had trained for their first HM, it was disappointing and so to ensure they had earned their medal and T-Shirt, we put on an impromptu Half Marathon the following Sunday complete with water station, marshals and a back biker.

The weather the following Sunday was so much better and we think its fair to say that everyone really enjoyed their unofficial Half support by our volunteers.
