Club Member of the Month

Club Member of the Month

This month’s Club Member of the Month is Kate who joined us as a non-runner in 2018. It is fair to say that unlike Verity, who was last month’s CMOTM, Kate is very quiet. However, we have seen her flourish in her time with us […]

Rutland Half Marathon

Rutland Half Marathon

Jo had been training for the Peterborough Half marathon only to realise she was actually on holiday on the day! Not to put that training to waste, she signed up for the Rutland Half alongside Dani, Annika & Helen who had all run Rutland last year.

Obviously this was more of a challenge than Peterborough as it is hilly but Jo finished her first Half in 2.40.30 which for a first time and on such a hilly course was amazing!

Annika & Dani ran together finishing in 2.30.15 and 2.30.16 with Helen completing 2.52.52 treating as her last training run before tampering for the Peterborough Half.

Well done all!

Club Member of the Month – September

Club Member of the Month – September

This month’s award went to Verity who joined us as a None To Runner in 2018. She finished that course with a 5k parkrun and went on to work up to 10K. Unfortunately, she picked up an injury which meant she wasn’t able to finish […]

Thorney 5 Mile & Kimbolton Half

Thorney 5 Mile & Kimbolton Half

4 of us ventured over to Thorny for their 5 mile race which is really well organised and friendly.

For all of us it was our first 5 Mile race and in Jacquie’s case, it was her first ever race of any distance.

Laura was first back in 37:38, Cat finished in 41:29, Jacquie in 1:00:53 with Nona just behind in 1:01:18.

One for next year’s calendar.

Also out today were Andrea & Kat who took on the Kimbolton Half Marathon.

Archie finished first at the Eye 5k handicap

Archie finished first at the Eye 5k handicap

Archie only joined us as a beginner runner towards the end of our last None To run programme. As the group were on week 9, he struggled to keep up but persevered and has been getting stronger. Unsure of his 5k time but having completed […]

Social cycling

Social cycling

We have started heading out for a cycle for a bit of cross training on a Wednesday evening and on Sunday 4 August, a few of us headed out to the Gidding Gobblers Cycle Cafe for a 9k ride up and down the hilly back roads.

A nice bike ride with a bit of cake in the middle – a lovely way to spend a Sunday afternoon.

Splice the mainbrace!

Splice the mainbrace!

For the past few weeks Alex has been training hard to complete her fitness test to stay in the Navy. As part of the test, she had to run 2.4km in just over 15 minutes. Her confidence suffered a knock when she started to struggle […]
