We are fortunate to have appointed 3 new Mental Health Champions to support our Ambassador Alex. Jacqueline, Amanda & Charlie have already started to raise awareness of mental health and are putting on their first #runandtalk event to coincide with Time To Talk day on […]
As a relatively new club, we are slowly establishing ourselves and our Sapphire Blue kit on the local running scene. This year, we had the opportunity to take part in the County Cross Country Championships for the first time. Gavin, Flo & Archie were our […]
What started out as a random comment by our membership secretary Jean, ended as a charity 5k Santa Run to raise money for Hunts Community Cancer Network.
Over 100 Santas signed up for a fun morning with DJ & Compare Terry Jones at the helm.
A lot of laughs, a few mince pies and some mulled wine ended up with us raising over £1000 for HCCN which when put together with monies donated by the Round Table for us supplying all the Santa helpers for their two Santa Visit to Sawtry, totalled around £1500.
As part of the event we asked people to bring along donations for Sawtry food bank too and Emma from CARESCO was able to come and collect armfuls of food to help families over the Christmas period.
Thank you to our most travelled runner, Kat. who has written this report of the Athen Marathon 2019: Race report for THE original marathon, Athens Authentic. Firstly look at the frightening elevation chart: You’re climbing from pretty much right before the half until 32-33km. […]

For those who were up at the EA awards night the night before, this wasn’t entirely bad news. However, especially for those who had trained for their first HM, it was disappointing and so to ensure they had earned their medal and T-Shirt, we put on an impromptu Half Marathon the following Sunday complete with water station, marshals and a back biker.
The weather the following Sunday was so much better and we think its fair to say that everyone really enjoyed their unofficial Half support by our volunteers.
We are very proud of the work undertaken by our Mental Health Champions and we were lucky enough to be given 2 tickets for the EA Volunteer Awards & Half of Fame in recognition of that they do. Of course last year we were nominees […]
