It’s not just about running

It’s not just about running

Our running club is about so much more than just running and this week a bunch of us got dressed up and shimmied on down to the village school where Bjorn Again were performing. It was a fabulous night and great to see so many […]

More parkrun success

More parkrun success

This week we had 7 runners at Peterborough parkrun (including Jo A, Jo B and Jo C!) and 2 at Huntingdon. Ryan was our first runner home at Peterborough in 18.58 with Richard not far behind and getting a PB with 20.02. Jo C also […]

Folksworth 15

Folksworth 15

9 plucky Sawtry runners signed up for this and all completed. For those who do not know, this is a 15 mile, 2 lap course with 3 killer hills on each lap. Today was a glorious winter day so it wasn’t as tough to conquer as previous years when the weather has been pretty dire.

Our first man home was Ryan in 1.40.59. He was followed by Nib in 1.58.59, Travis 2.04.04, Gavin 2.08.35, Meg 2.14.23, Laura 2.23.09, Dan 2.26.03 with Lizzie and mum Andrea crossing the line together in 2.43.34.

Andrea was 6th in her age category, Ryan 13th in his, Nib 14th and Meg 15th in hers.

Well done folks, can’t wait till next year!

Another parkrun PB!

Another parkrun PB!

This week’s parkrun PB goes to Catherine who took over a minute off her previous time. Catherine only completed our beginners programme last summer (joining part way through – that’s her second from the left in the graduation photo) and has since lost a shed […]

23 Runners, 8 PBs and 4 First time 10kers at Oundle

On a very windy morning, 23 runners from SWTR set off to do the Oundle 10K. Described as “gently undulating”, the course had its fair share of hilly bits and exposed bits. Despite the hills and the wind, we had 8 PBs amongst our 23 […]

parkrun takeover

parkrun takeover

Saturday 5 January 2019 was the first parkrun of the year at Peterborough and it fell to Sawtry Walk To Run to provide all the volunteers for a takeover.

Nearly 40 of us put on our hi-vis to help make sure of the safety and enjoyment of the 699 runners who took part.

Nona was debuting as Run Director and had the job of telling the very keen runners that there would be a 10 min delay as so many people were queuing to get in the car park. Fortunately, parkrunners tend to be a friendly bunch and so there were no complaints (well none we heard about anyway!).

A host of 10K PBs to end 2018

A host of 10K PBs to end 2018

A bunch of us went along to the Sublime New Years Eve 10K at Ferry Meadows. We had two runners competing in their first ever 10k and both did well with Cathy finishing in 1.15.43 and Jo in 1.12.56. All of our other runners got […]
